Do you ever wonder how to go about building better website content in order to capture more google search traffic and longer visit times? The answer lies in keyword use and incoming links.
Learning How to Build Better Website Content
As an online content writer, learning how to build better website content is something that I’ve personally had to learn over a fair amount of time.
While it’s easy enough for a webmaster to throw together a page of content, it isn’t likely to attract many visitors to your site. Some web designers will go so far as to take a course on building better website content that teaches the importance of using keywords, and then they’ll attempt to draw in traffic by jamming their pages fill of keywords. This is also known as keyword spamming.
While this worked in the older days of the internet, it no longer works today. The following elements are what you need to focus on in order to make sure web page content is optimized to draw in the most traffic to your website.
Choose Optimum Keywords
When you are considering what to write about, you may have a general idea of the topic or niche that you want to target. It could be something general like buying used cars, selling insurance, or anything at all. But to choose article content that targets what people are looking for online, you need to determine what people are searching for. Two of the most popular free sites for researching keywords include WordTracker and the Google Keyword Tool. Look for keywords with high monthly or daily search ratings, and this will dramatically increase your odds of tapping into some of those search results.
Use Keywords Wisely
Another key to building better website content is to take those keywords that you’ve discovered are popular and use them efficiently throughout the article. There are certain premium counts of keywords in an article that’s perfect. Too many will reduce your ranking, and too few won’t get you any results. The perfect balance is as follows:
Up to Two Keywords: Use the keyword phrase six to eight times throughout your article content or web page content.
Three or More Keywords: Use the longer keyword phrase about three to four times throughout your web page content.
Update Content Often
It isn’t good enough to simply write an article with a high search value keyword, and perfectly search engine optimized article. It’s also critical to put such articles on your website as often as possible. This can mean daily, but you might get away with every other day or so. If people see constant content updated on your website, they’ll keep coming back to see what’s next. There are people who have certain blogs or websites on their daily “list” of Internet reading. Make that list by providing high quality and valuable content almost every day, and watch your website rankings soar.
Generate Incoming Links
We’re going to touch on this topic a bit more in the upcoming article. But for now, keep this in mind. Having great content is ideal for keeping visitors on your website and also coming back again for more. But getting them to your website depends more on how many incoming links you have. This means you will spend at least a month conducting a website marketing campaign that establishes a link to your website on all major blogs, forums, websites, and other social networks that are focused, even remotely, on your particular niche. More on this next time.
